How to install mIRC
1. Download the latest version of mIRC client (when this material was written, the
latest version was 6.16, and it had size 1.24Mb) here:
http://www.mirc.co.uk/get.html
and install it.
2. After you run this program, it will show you "mIRC Options:Connect"
window [see screen]. You have to
fill out 3 required fields here, which are: "Full Name", "Email Address" and "Nickname". It
is important that your mIRC's nickname is equal to your Cup's nickname.
3. After that switch to Servers
section [see screen]. Select "QuakeNet" as
your IRC Network, and choose any QuakeNet (try closest to you) server from the "IRC Server" list.
Press the "Connect to Server" button.
4. If you were successfully connected to the server, you will see "mIRC Favorites"
window [see screen]. In this window type
the name of our channel (which you get before tourney starts) and press "Join". If you have
problems with connections to the server, choose other QuakeNet server.
5. After you join the
channel [see screen], you can send
your messages by typing them in the bottom of the screen and pressing Enter button on your
keyboard. You also can sent private messages. To do this, double click on nickname you want
to talk with.
If you want, you can use any other IRC client instead mIRC.
